Droughan “Dru” Costello has been involved in team and individual sports as a competitor, coach and mentor his whole life. While running with a track and field club as a teenager he was introduced to Registered Massage Therapy as a way of treating his running injuries and providing relaxation techniques for improved mental focus. Subsequently, Dru has consistently sought it out as a form of preventative health care to treat soft tissue injuries and to provide overall wellness.
After the days of organized competition ended, and knowing he wanted to share the benefits of RMT, Droughan attended Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic where he took specialty clinics in sports massage and spinal cord injuries along with 2,200 hours of study in clinics and the classroom. He graduated from the program in 2009.
Dru has worked in a variety of professional settings including gyms and multidisciplinary clinics alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, athletic therapists and naturopaths. While working at www.dcrmt.com for five years, he has treated busy urbanites with chronic and acute injuries while educating them on how to take better care of themselves. As well, he has treated clients training for specific sporting events which involve muscle strains and/or injuries who see RMT as a part of their regimen.
Through a thorough intake and assessment, Dru will get a clearer picture of why you might be experiencing pain or stress. RMT and remedial exercises, both stretching and strengthening, will empower you to become a more active member in your own self care.
