I’d sought out Registered Massage Therapy since I was 16yrs old when I was running with the Etobicoke Huskies Striders. We trained at Centennial stadium in Etobicoke during the spring and summer and York U indoors in the winter. Student clinics were offered around Jane and Bloor st. I was a fan immediately! But back to my return to Toronto after my trip to SEA.
It’s interesting that I mentioned Jim Patullo in yesterday’s post because I was e mailed by him yesterday to inform me of the passing of his uncle Carmine who was the man on the ground and in the trenches for the family business. The generosity of this whole family I’ll always be grateful for and I’m still in touch with them.
I recently played tennis at the Mayfair Tennis Club on the lakeshore, 10yrs ago I was washing dishes there and I remember specifically calling Jimmy to ask him for help. These brutal jobs with no future for me when I was in Vancouver to find out what I didn’t want to do not for the 35yr old version of me.
So even though for a long time I’d been introduced to Massage Therapy and the idea of becoming a therapist I didn’t think long term and the quick fixes were always more enticing for me. As a younger person I didn’t realize that I’d be getting older, friends would marry have kids or just move away. The fact that I’d never finished high school didn’t help me realize the reality of hard work being essential to success. I was special and somewhere it would be realized by someone and the rest would fall into place.
